Preliminary environmental study for the final completion of the project of Vicenza Ring Road

DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT

The project is included in the 2014 contract program with the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport. The funding is shared with Autostrada Brescia - Padua and Veneto Region.
The project originates from the West Ring Road of Vicenza at “Villaggio del Sole”. It develops on the west side of the road S.P. 46 and terminates in Moracchino locations in municipality of Vicenza on existing roads S.P. 46. The project extends for about 5300 m and presents two intersections at each ends (Viale del Sole and S.P. 46). The adopted type section is the C1, according to Law D.M. 05/11/2001. The greater infrastructure is represented by the viaduct developed at the junction at the starting point of the Lot, with a total length of 116.00 m.

The Study has been prepared for the purpose of verification for EIA screening, in accordance with regulations established by Article 20 of Dl.gs 4/2008 and subsequent amendments. The aim of the study is to characterize the environmental conditions of the territory interested in the implementation of the project, identify any changes generated by the construction and operation of the work, characterize the mitigative or compensatory measures which may be necessary to optimize the integration of the interventions planned in the concerned context .

SPECIFICITY STUDY

In addition to the study for EIA screening, it has been developed:

- A report for worksite and materials management which describes aspects related to the construction site.
- Indications regarding the management of soil, identification of quarry sites and landfill on the area
- A project of Landscape - Environmental inclusion describing interventions in order to improve the inclusion of the project in the territory.
- An environmental monitoring plan aimed at:

  • checking the environmental effects related to the implementation of the project,
  • the early detection of unforeseen environmental effects,
  • informing the authorities and the public on the results of the Programme through activities of reporting.

- An acoustic study which allowed to develop a “map” of the noise generated to assess the existence and importance of buildings in areas with noise levels higher than those determined by law.
