Rehabilitation of upgraded safety barriers Highway A01/A11 - ASPI

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

All the project refers to the replacement of current barrier NJ type in the traffic island. The barriers characteristics are described in the «Catalogo Generale delle Barriere di Sicurezza» of 1988 (c.d. “Catalogo Blu”), as part of the plan to upgrade the safety barriers DM 223/92. in particular, a discontinuous intervention is required only in areas where there is a difference in height between the carriages in the divider.
The planned activities can be summarised as follows:

  • Pre-project Preliminary Investigation Activities - Analysis of the Existing Documentation of Paths and Works of Art, Definition of the Topographic Survey Plan (MMS);
  • Coordination and Assistance for the identification of census and management of sub/above interfering services for all Sub-tracts; in partial overlap with investigations and drafting of the preliminary design;
  • Activities of Pre-project Investigations of the Final Design - Definition Plan of detailed topographic surveys and plan of geodetic investigations and realization of surveys;
  • Final Design;
  • Detailed Design.

SPECIFICITY OF THE STUDY

Drafting of the plan of geognostic and environmental investigations on materials object of excavations, carried out in the planning phase, aims to determine, in advance, the framework for proper management in accordance with industry regulations.
Environmental surveys will be carried out in close coordination with geognostic surveys, in order to optimize the costs of the entire geotechnical and environmental characterization campaign and to speed up the execution. This operation guarantees the good quality of the sample taken and lower costs, because does not require a new site installation for the sole collection of environmental sample from additional exploratory well and/or penetrometric/core drilling.
In order to identify the disposal or recovery plant to which the soil can be given as waste, transfer tests have also been planned on the sample.
