Framework Agreement for Environmental Monitoring relating to soil, vegetation, flora, fauna, landscape and social environment components
Environmental monitoring is aimed at characterizing the ante operam, execution and post operam phases relating to the soil components; vegetation, flora, fauna, social environment and landscape. This means the determination of the “zero state” before the opening of the construction sites (ante operam) and, subsequently, the control of the pollution produced by construction activities and the state of the places at the end of the works.
The purposes of environmental monitoring are:
- Check temporary effects in relation to construction site activities;
- Detect emergency situations;
- Provide the basis for defining suitable measures to counteract any impacts;
- Check the measures defined in the project for the mitigation of the impacts related to the construction activities;
- Check the effectiveness of mitigation measures and operating procedures to contain the impacts associated with potential emissions produced in the construction site phase;
- Provide additional information highlighting any changes that have occurred with respect to the assessments made during the design phase, with the aim of proceeding for subsequent iterations during the work to update the assessment of the emissions produced during the construction phase;
- Provide data for the possible calibration and / or adjustment of the forecast models used in environmental impact studies.
All measured, analyzed or processed data and related documentation are returned on paper and / or digital support, as well as implemented in the Italferr database (SIGMAP).
The assignment was awarded to the ERACLITO Consortium (composed by SGS Italia and VDP), the activities are carried out by VDP.
