Public health study for the High Speed line Turin - Venice. Milan - Verona section, Brescia - Verona Functional Lot

In particular, a specific study on public health has been prepared, based on scientifically valid and shared evidence, aimed at identifying the population potentially affected by the work and its effects, estimating both the positive effects on well-being and the quality of life that the project can produce, and negative ones with development of pathologies and risk factors.

The study is divided into the following parts:
• Analysis of the current state of the environmental components, estimated emissions, foreseeable alterations and their duration
• Characterization of the population living in the study area from a demographic and social point of view, defining their number and composition, the spatial distribution and any existing pressure factors
• Characterization of the health status of the population (demographic profile, factors of diseases, factors of death, etc.)
• Estimated impacts on the public health component:
- analysis of health risk factors related to the implementation of the project
- identification of diseases associated with previously identified risk factors
- identification of any segments of the population susceptible to the identified risk factors
- identification of the expected health effects
• Calculation of expected impacts by applying a toxicological and / or epidemiological approach
• Definition of mitigation measures to contain the expected impacts
• Monitoring plan aimed at verifying the correctness of the forecast estimates during construction phase Province and operation
