Prevention and Remediation Plan regarding noise pollution generated by military airport areas
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
ANPA (now ISPRA - Istituto superiore per la protezione e la ricerca ambientale) institutional activities support the Ministry of Defense in noise prevention and remediation for military airport areas.
In 2001 ARPA entrusted VDP with an assignment concerning consultancy services for the prevention of noise pollution and rehabilitation of military airport areas.
Regarding Rivolto Airport, noise measurements and predictive modeling were carried out for the Frecce Tricolori, the aerobatic demonstration team of the Italian Air Force.
Rivolto, a village in the municipality of Codroipo (UD), hosts the military airport which serves as the home of the national Italian acrobatic flying team.
In particular, VDP developed the following activities:
- Analysis of Italian legislation on airport noise concerning military airbase facilities;
- Simulation models of military aircraft noise;
- Characterization of military aircraft noise sources through phonometric surveys;
- Creation of a preliminary database regarding military aircraft emissions;
- Implementation and preliminary verification of the simulation model on a real situation.
