Noise Monitoring Project – Sound Level Measurements and Acoustic Simulations for aircraft take off and landing scenarios from Section 05 towards City of Verona and Support to the Airport Commission according to DM 31/10/97
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
“Valerio Catullo S.p.A.”, as the company which manages Verona airport, needs to perform routine tests on the acoustic conditions of the territory as a result of the planned expansion of airport activities.
In particular, phonometric measurements and acoustic simulations were performed in order to assess the option to use Section 05 for aircraft take off and landing in the direction of the city.
VDP had already carried out activities related to acoustic pollution concerning Verona Airport such as noise control for take-offs, overflights and landings in compliance with noise abatement procedures.
Over the years VDP has developed the design of a noise monitoring system comprising of dedicated noise measurements in five different points and in-depth acoustic simulations. Eventually, VDP supported the management company during meetings with experts and technicians of ENAC, ARPA, Veneto Region, involved municipalities and environmental organizations.
