Monitoring of the Social Environment component regarding section A, 1st lot of both Como and Varese Bypass Roads - Pedemontana Lombarda Motorway

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The work aims at monitoring, continuously and during construction, the evolution of the context surrounding the infrastructure.

On the basis of the study concerning the signals coming from the communities affected, it is possible to develop and organize the Monitoring Plan which involves the analyses of local and media debates and the evaluation of the activities proposed by institutions, economic elites, social organizations, etc.

The monitoring focuses on the following social aspects and analyses:

  • Definition of the main socio-economic and socio-cultural factors characterizing the living conditions of the communities involved by monitoring reliable social indicators and making a comparison with the pre-infrastructure scenario;
  • Analysis of national and local newspapers in order to recognize and capture the citizens’ perception of the bypass works.
