Acoustic mitigation plan and noise monitoring through VDP mobile laboratory

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The work involved the organization and implementation of a series of specific activities in the acoustic sector with the purpose of drafting the Noise Mitigation Plan of the City of Cosenza.
The following activities were performed:

  • acoustic zoning of the city of Cosenza in accordance with national law no. 447/1995 and Regional Council Decision (D.C.R.) no. 131 of July 30, 1996;
  • preliminary detection of sound values, using about 120 phonometric measurements points;
  • provision of an environmental monitoring system for air pollution levels comprising of a suitable mobile laboratory, a weather station and two portable sound level meters equipped with watertight housings;
  • preparation of the municipal Noise Mitigation Plan;
  • implementation of a data monitoring and processing center, including the application software;
  • definition of a data transmission system;
  • operation of the described instrumentation for the first year;
  • training of the personnel selected by the municipal administration.
