Northern Corridor Rehabilitation Programme Phase III (Kenya)
LOT 1: REHABILITATION OF ELDORET-TURBO-WEBUYE ROAD (A104)
The road project is situated in Uasin Gishu, Kakamega and Bungoma Counties. It starts at Maili Nne Market (approx. 6km from Eldoret Town) and runs westwards along the existing Road A104 through Turbo Town and ends at Webuye Township. The total road length is approximately 59Km.
The works comprise of rehabilitation of existing pavement through construction of strengthening overlay of 75-150mm thick DBM base and 50mm thick AC (0/20) wearing course to attain a carriageway of 7m wide and shoulders of 2m wide on either side.
LOT 2: REHABILITATION OF WEBUYE – MALABA ROAD (A104)
The approximately 62 km-long project road starts at Webuye first junction RHS coming from Eldoret and ends at Malaba. The Webuye - Malaba Road being part of the A104 road is an integral section of the Northern Corridor and as such it is a major transit route for traffic to Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi and Southern Sudan.
The Works specified under the Contract include all general and ancillary works and those of any nature that are deemed necessary for the construction, completion and maintenance of the road.
VDP developed the Environmental Management Plan during design and at construction site for both Lot 1 and Lot 2.
