Final projects regarding noise management plan actions for different sections of the Italian Highway network

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The study concerns the design of noise mitigation measures relating to the areas “subject to noise action” in the Noise management plan by Italian Highway Company accordin the Law D.M.Ambiente of 04/29/2000.
The final acoustic studies were organized by field activities and analysis in office.
Phonometric investigations have been conducted for environmental characterization of the current acustic conditions of project area and neighborhood, as well as the acoustic characterization of main other sources that could potentially generate noise.

Acoustic analyzes have been performed with a detailed simulation model, calibrated according to the results of the above mentioned noise measurements campaign according to normative indications.
There have been several hypotheses of distribution and height of mitigation actions, both in the current traffic scenario and in the traffic scenario assumed in the next future.

PROJECT CHARACTERISTICS

The study concerns motorway sections in the following regions:
Abruzzo, Campania, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Lazio, Liguria, Lombardy, Marche, Molise, Piemonte, Tuscany, Umbria, Veneto

The Municipalities concerned are 94 and the total extension of the analyzed motorway network is 244 kilometers. 120 photometric measurements have been performed over long period in continuous, mainly weekly, many of them with the analysis of the separate vehicle traffic on the basis of type of vehicle, speed, direction of travel and transit lane.
