Noise reduction measures regarding plants and depots of CO.TRA.L. Transport Company (Lazio)
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The acoustic study included several analyses aimed at the evaluation of the plant noise emission generated in CO.TRA.L bus depots. Environmental and residual noise analyses were performed through day and night sound level measurements on the adjacent sensitive receptors and buildings. These measurements were carried out inside the plants and / or depots in correspondence of significant points along the perimeter of the geometric lines that link the receptors to the noise source (depot plants).
Acoustic and housing compatibility on the examined areas was assessed by checking the results with the regulatory limits set out in the local government planning. In particular the registered noise levels had to show compliance with the Acoustic Mitigation Plans required by framework law no.447 of 26/10 1995, and which are further detailed in Lazio Regional Legislation (Regional Law no.18 of 03/08/2001).
PROJECT CHARACTERISTICS
The study involved a total of 26 depot plants distributed evenly throughout the region of Lazio.
For each plant, analysis documents were drafted, such as general reports, sound measurement annexes, plant layouts, layouts of receptors and measurement points, details of the municipality acoustic classification plans and reports regarding the noise analysis modeling for each receptor.
Eventually, potential noise mitigation actions were defined in case simulation results showed levels higher than the required legislative targets.
