Drafting of the acoustic recovery plan and preparation of the report concerning the acoustic situation of the City of Cagliari

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This service involves two complementary levels of work: survey on the territory, through direct measurements of noise sources and definition of prevalent acoustic phenomena and analysis of the data acquired by means of acoustic modeling and application of mapping software.
In particular the following activities are carried out:

  • Collection and organization of all the available information in a database in order to gain a widespread knowledge of the acoustic climate of the local territory through actual measurements, aimed also at the calibration of the acoustic simulation model;
  • Collection of data regarding vehicular traffic flows. In this way it is possible to determine the full extent of the vehicular traffic for the city road network, also defining the type of vehicles and the road surface conditions.
  • Acoustic data gathering retrieved from former projects completed in the municipal area. In this case the objective is to obtain further information useful for drawing a complete picture of the local environment and for dividing the noise generated by city sources from the one with different causes.
  • Application of a preliminary protocol for sharing the results of the study with the Client, to upgrade gradually during the work;
  • Implementation and validation of the acoustic model and assessment of noise levels and population exposed.
  • Characterization of sensitive receptors and definition of critical areas related to specific sources of pollution extracted from the modeling;
  • Analysis and subsequent project of mitigation interventions.
