Framework Agreement for traffic monitoring measures and mobility surveys in Rome

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

VDP signed a Framework Agreement for traffic monitoring measures and mobility surveys in Rome.
One-way and/or two-ways traffic arterial roads and complex intersections will be analysed. Traffic data, divided into time-frames of 15 minutes and organized by categories of observed vehicles, will be reported for each site. In 2018, surveys on 10 road sections and 14 intersections have been performed.

SPECIFICITY OF THE STUDY

Depending on the road examined, different instruments were used in order to carry out traffic surveys.
Radar traffic instruments have been used for “road sections”. This type of equipment, once installed and calibrated in the proper way, is able to detect the number and the features of the vehicles moving across the area.
For “road intersections”, traffic instruments with camera have been used.
This type of equipment, once installed and calibrated in the right way, is able to detect the number of the vehicles moving across the intersection, using a complex monitoring technology.
