Noise and air pollution study regarding the trolleybus power grid electrified with innovative technology between Pescara and Montesilvano
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The work was set in context of the project regarding the new trolleybus line between the towns of Pescara and Montesilvano and it involved atmospheric and acoustic analyses concerning the environmental effects this new line could potentially have on the surrounding area. The study assessed the compliance with the requirements stated in the Legislative Decree no. 152/06.
The transformation of the territory caused by the trolleybus line and its daily activity is described in the study which takes into account pre- and post-construction phases through a dual approach. In fact, the work analyzed the impacts using measurement results along with data obtained from the implementation of a specific predictive mathematical method. This method allowed the assessment of the potential impacts and the determination of the acoustic and air emissions related to the line. The work was organized into the following stages:
Stage 1: Preliminary
- Characterization and localization of residential and sensitive buildings along the trolleybus route;
- Analysis of the local planning, such as the Regional Air Quality Plan and the Municipal Acoustic Zoning.
Stage 2. Predictive
- Analysis and processing of the traffic study data;
- Analysis and processing of the data connected to the technical documentation regarding the emissions of the trolleybus line;
- Implementation of the calculation model and simulation input.
Step 3. Analytical
- Identification of the reference limits;
- Result analysis of the pre-construction simulation;
- Result analysis of the post-construction simulation;
- Conclusions.
